WINDOW ROCK, AZ. – After a two-year absence, the Fourth of July Celebration will
return to the Navajo Nation capital.

According to Norma Bowman, Navajo Nation Fair Manager, the Navajo Nation will
host a Fourth of July Celebration and Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association (PRCA)
Rodeo in Window Rock, Arizona on July 3-6th.

“The Navajo Nation will feature a pageantry of cultural pride, professional athleticism,
and music legends,” said Bowman. “Our Fourth of July Celebration will be an ideal event for
families and people of all ages. Our theme is ‘Celebrating Freedom,’ and we want everyone
to celebrate with us here in the capital of the Navajo Nation in Window Rock, Arizona.”
Making its very first debut to the Navajo Nation will be PRCA Rodeo Stock Contractor
Carr Rodeo of Dallas, Texas whose motto is “Living Life in Eight Seconds,” Bowman said,

In addition to a new rodeo stock contractor, the Navajo Nation Fair Office will add a
new event to the PRCA Rodeo – junior barrel racing. In fact, Bowman noted that there are
more contestants entered in barrel racing than in any other event. There are approximately 80
entries in the PRCA Rodeo Barrel Racing event and an additional 20 contestants who will vie
for an ipad in the junior barrel racing event.

Rodeo fans can see the wild west come alive during a wild horse competition, which
will be held in conjunction with the PRCA Rodeo on July 4th. Approximately 400 contestants
from throughout the world will compete for approximately $74,000 in total prize money. The
PRCA Rodeo will be held at 6 p.m. on July 4th and 7 p.m. on July 5-6th at the Navajo Nation Fairgrounds.

PRCA Rodeo tickets can be purchased online at www.holdmyticket.com or at the rodeo
grounds each day of the rodeo. Adults will be charged an admission of $10 and it will be $3
for senior citizens and children.

If kicking up your high heel boots is more your style, the Navajo Nation is proud to host
popular music band Creedence Clearwater Revisited (CCR) who will perform on July 3rd at
the Navajo Nation Fairgrounds beginning at 9 p.m. Concert tickets will be on sale at various
Navajo tribal parks and other entities. Presale tickets are $15 or $18 at the door the day of the
concet. Tickets to the concert can also be purchased online at www.holdmyticket.com
Navajo comedians James and Ernie will also provide entertainment prior to the CCR
concert beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Another added attraction will be The Battle of the Bands, which will feature the best
Navajo country bands on the Navajo Nation. More than 30 Navajo bands from throughout the
Four Corners region are expected to compete for $3,000 in prize money beginning at 1 p.m.
on Friday, July 6th. At 9 p.m. there will be a country and western dance featuring the Battle of
the Bands winner at the Navajo Nation Fairgrounds.

The Fourth of July Celebration will also include a carnival and a professional fireworks
display on July Fourth. For more information, contact www.navajonationfair.com or call
