A Glimpse of Culture: Antelope Slot Canyon Tours

Antelope Canyon : A wonder all its own.

Mr. Ray Tsosie has grown up in Page, Arizona and has been eager to share his culture, traditions, and stories with all visitors to the Lake Powell region. The focus of Antelope Slot Canyon tours is to offer a personal once-in-a-lifetime experience to all visitors.

The Navajo name for upper Antelope Canyon is Tsé bighánílíní, which means “the place where water runs through rocks.”

“An older Navajo would probably pause before going in, to be in the right frame of mind and to prepare for protection and respect. This would also allow them to leave with an uplifted feeling of what Mother Earth has to offer, and to be in harmony with something greater than them. It is a spiritual experience.” By Effie Yazzie

About the experience:

Featuring groups into the canyon, occasional impromptu flute serenades, and the knowledge gleaned from a life lived but two miles west of the canyon itself, Chief Tsosie and his company offer travelers an intimate and unique Native American experience of the canyon, while still exposing his guest to some of its most well-loved sights and coves. Chief’s tour is more than just seeing and slot canyon that has been carved over millions of years by flash flooding, it’s the intimate experience with Chief Tsosie leading the tour of the canyon. It is the 3:00 pm tour that Chief will lead and provide his guest the opportunity to mediate in the stillness of this natural beauty. Chief Tsosie will bring along his Native American flute on this tour to play his “Childhood Canyon Melodies” bringing to the site a visual harmony. The best part of his music is to hear the natural acoustics traveling throughout the entire slot canyon.

Antelope Slot Canyon Tours enlightens its entire guest with in-depth descriptions and explications of both the Navajo Nation and the canyon itself. Chief Tsosie’s deep love and appreciation for the canyon, which he calls “the Navajo Nation Natural Wonder” is apparent in his companies polices, methodologies, and tours. Join Chief Tsosie and his guides for an experience of this natural cathedral of vibrant hues and wonderment.

**Please keep an eye out for our joint package to include the Quality Inn Lake Powell, Antelope Slot Canyon Tours, and the Navajo Village heritage center.
